Indigenous Australians are under-represented in Australian science, technology and engineering. In an effort to encourage and enthuse talented indigenous students with an interest in science, The Science Foundation for Physics is reserving a quantity of the ISS scholarships specifically for applications from indigenous students. These will be judged according to the same criteria and standards of excellence as all other applications.
Through encouraging indigenous students and their teachers across the country to apply to attend the ISS, the Science Foundation for Physics aims to give talented Indigenous students a chance to explore their interest in science to the fullest.
Indigenous students should complete the section on the Application Kit for Indigenous Students, and return their forms to the Science Foundation for Physics to arrive no later than Friday 3 April 2009.
